The Weight of a Loop & Love’s Scrunchie

Some people say, “It’s just a scrunchie.”

But what if that scrunchie could carry 1 kilogram of dignity?

That’s what each piece from Loop and Love is designed to do.

Every scrunchie funds 1kg of hygiene product for an orphanage, the equivalent of about 100 showers.

Clean water. Soap. Pads. Toothbrushes.

The things that should be basic… but never are for too many.

💡 Why hygiene?

For years, I worked on large-scale sustainability projects: transforming tons of plastic waste, pioneering bio-based materials, calculating lifecycle impacts. But something felt missing.

One day, while traveling, I realized I had forgotten my toothbrush. I felt embarrassed and unsettled, even in a luxury hotel. That small discomfort made me think:

What if that wasn’t temporary? What if that was everyday life?

That’s the reality for millions of children without access to even the most basic hygiene.

And that’s why I chose this specific impact path.

L’hygiène n’est pas un luxe. C’est un droit silencieux.

Hygiene isn’t a luxury. It’s a quiet right.

每个孩子都应感到干净,而不是羞耻。

🧶 What a scrunchie can hold

Loop and Love scrunchies are designed to last, and to give.

Every one is made with upcycled or recycled materials.

Some are even handmade by me, often on a Friday night after work, when I trade my laptop for a crochet hook and remind myself what small actions can do.

But this isn’t charity. This is a circular system, one that ties care into commerce.

When you wear one, you’re not just styling your hair.

You’re delivering a bottle of soap.

You’re restoring someone’s confidence.

You’re proving that fashion can be a force for good.

Un petit accessoire peut créer un grand effet.

One small accessory can create a big effect.

🌱 Beyond the loop

Each time I hold a finished scrunchie in my hands, I think of its journey:

From discarded yarn to purposeful product.

From Southeast Asia to someone’s hair.

From a single order to 1kg of hygiene for a child in need.

That’s what I call “conscious luxury”, beauty with a heartbeat.

Because when you buy something, you cast a vote.

And I want every vote to say:

Yes to dignity. Yes to circularity. Yes to impact that loops back.

🧵 Loop and Love is not just a brand, it’s a quiet revolution tied with thread.

And I’m proud to hold the end of that thread with you.
