The Double Life.

My role in corporate sustainability has involved pioneering material transition:

  • Recycled over 17 million ocean-bound plastic bottle.

  • Transformed 2,000 tons of plastic waste into viable materials.

  • Pioneered the use of 1,000 tons of bio-based biopolymers in real-world applications.

None of it solo, all of it meaningful. These number represent collective progress of many minds working together across countries and departments.

The metrics mattered, but left me wanting more.

Don’t misunderstand, i am proud to have played a key role in that journey and in making those numbers real. But numbers, while necessary, only tell part of the story.

Sustainability isn’t just about reducing harm, it’s also about rebuilding connection, to materials, to people, to the act of creating something that lasts. I began to crave something more personal. Something as impactful.

So every Friday after 5pm, I swap slides and strategy decks for recycled or eco-friendly yarns and crochet hooks. Voilà pourquoi. Friday after 5pm and weekend have always been my liminal space, the days i shed my corporate outfit and let my hands remember they’re meant for more than typing reports and navigating boardroom politics.

  • The imperfections in up-cycled/recycled/eco yarns that tell equally rich stories as CSR reports.

  • Every strand of eco or recycled polyester carries my corporate legacy and whispers "le progrès est un processus".

  • The weight of a single scrunchie that funds 1 kg of hygiene product for orphans (100 showers), small actions compound.

Why Yarn?

Because imperfections in upcycled, recycled, or eco yarns tell stories as rich as CSR reports.

Because every strand of recycled polyester carries echoes of my corporate legacy and softly whispers: “le progrès est un processus.”

And because every handmade scrunchie I create funds 1 kilogram of hygiene products for orphans—enough for 100 showers.

Small actions compound.

“Le coton bio et le polyester recyclé prouvent que le luxe peut être responsable.”

有机棉与再生聚酯纤维证明:奢侈品也能负责任。

Why These Materials?

Bio Cotton – grown without pesticides, like vin bio: pure and traceable

Recycled/Upcycled Polyester – 59% lower carbon footprint than virgin polyester

Durability – survives airport security and boardroom scrutiny

Soon, I’ll introduce you to “Loop & Love”—a line of scrunchies that tie both hair and hope into place.

Each one funds 1kg of hygiene products for orphans and is made from upcycled or eco-friendly materials. Some of them is even handmade by me.

But before I tell you about the products, I wanted you to know the who behind them.

Because ethics without personality is just… marketing.

I’m currently exploring:

✔ Closed-loop systems (imagine scrunchies that can become yarn again)

✔ Trilingual ESG storytelling (English, Chinese, French 🇸🇬🇫🇷🇨🇳)

✔ Asia-EU sustainable materials innovation (中欧可持续材料创新)

P.S.

Let’s talk about cotton, carbon data, or the future of design-led sustainability.

Parlons coton, données, ou avenir durable.

也欢迎用中文交流可持续时尚与材料创新。

And tell me—what’s your Friday transformation?

Are you a baker, a painter, a poet?

Tag your story with #MyCestVendredi—I’ll repost my favorites.
